When I heard about Amazon's Kindle, I poopooed it. I guess I thought I was a book purist; you know, something about holding the book in your hand, the smell of the pages, etc. In reality, I think I'm just cheap. At $259 and books running about $10, I never saw myself owning one.
But THEN...
I found out there was a Kindle app for my iPhone. And it is totally fantastic! The Kindle app is free, so all you have to do is buy the books. With most paper backs running around $12-15, 10 bucks is cheap (and that's new releases; older books are cheaper). You simply access Amazon's website, pick a book, and it's sent electronically to your device. I don't go anywhere without my phone, so it's always accessible! I love being able to buy a book at a moment's notice, whether that's at 9PM Friday night or at the doctor's office when I find out I'm going to be there awhile.
And when I'm done, I just delete the book from my iPhone. I don't have to deal with a stack of paperbacks gathering dust and taking up space in my house. Or if I really liked the book, I can keep it on the Kindle app home page. Love it!
